"N" IS FOR NOTE ~ MUSICAL NOTE CARDS

This is another variation on the "Note" cards. Instead of ribbon, I used the silver corner embellishment. Isn't it cool? You just place it over the corner and crimp it in place. I don't know where they were purchased, since they were a gift, but I will definitely be looking out for them in the future. :D

SPRING DRESS NOTE CARD

I saw a card similar to this on Splitcoast and had to try it myself. They used it for a bridal shower card, I liked the idea of a spring dress and sent it to a very dear lady. I used glitter cardstock for the dress. The card and envelope have a very shimmery look to them, as well. I hope it will make her smile.

BEACH SHAKER CARD

Here's my shaker card for the swap. I was hoping to put the seashells inside with the sand, but the shaker wasn't deep enough so I used them as embellishments instead. I wasn't sure where I was going to find the sand. I was definitely not going to buy it; especially since I only needed about 1/4 cup. In the end DH donated the sand. Apparently we had a bag left over from some concrete work he did ... lol.

I colored the area behind the girls a very pale blue. The background and the girls were colored with pencils, while the weeds under their feet were colored with Bic Mark-It pens.

I haven't made a shaker card in ten years, so this was a lot of fun for me. I sure hope Mary Lou likes it.

"CUTE" CARD SWAP

This is the card I made for the "Cute" card swap. I double layered the scalloped oval using pop-dots. Then I cut her legs off at the knees (you should've seen my youngest's face when I did that ... lol) and used pop-dots to raise them up so she would appear to be sitting in the window with her feet hanging out. I was pretty happy with the results (and there was a sigh of relief from my youngest when she saw the final product).

SKATING ON ACETATE

Even though it's Spring here, I just couldn't resist making a card out of these two skaters. There is clear acetate over the blue to make it shiny like ice. Unfortunately, that also makes it difficult to take a picture of. If I used flash, it reflected in the acetate, and without flash you don't get the shimmery detail.

It still needs a little something. I'm keeping my eye out for a silver snowflake brad to put in the upper left-hand corner to finish it off. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin' Up!

LINUS & SNOOPY GET WELL CARD

This winter brought us a horrible flu season. I know so many people who have had it several times. Now everyone is being a lot more cautious. If we are sick, we stay away from folks. Likewise, when we encounter folks who are sick ... we wave and send ((air hugs)).

That was the inspiration for this card. Plus, Snoopy looks cute with all those red spots. ... lol.
