SAILING SHAKER CARD

This image seemed just perfect for a shaker card. I used chalks on the image to give it a softer look, and added the microbeads for the water. The rest are chipboard accents. It was really quick and easy to do. It's going out to Lisa and I hope she likes it.

Thanks for visiting!

SNOOPY & LINUS GET WELL CARD

When I saw this sentiment stamp, I knew I had to get it to go with the Snoopy & Linus one. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've used them together. The stickers, were a great find. I was hoping for some brads, but I couldn't find any good get well ones, so I opted for the stickers instead. In the end it all worked out.

SNOOPY CARD FOR SHADES OF GREEN SWAP

I was feeling very brave when I signed up for this swap ... lol. Green is not one of my favorites, so I found it to be a little intimidating. The green papers came from a card making kit. Then I was kind of stuck.

I knew I hadn't done a Peanuts card in awhile so I was definitely leaning in that direction. I started looking through my sentiments for inspiration when I found this quote. All of a sudden I knew exactly what I wanted to do. It's funny how the old brain works sometimes.

"WINGS" SWAP

This was a lot fun to do. The embossed butterfly came in some card making goodies and I was so glad I had cardstock that went with it! I was even hard pressed to tell the difference.

That soft pink just screamed for the pearls ... lol. The sentiment is a cuttlebug embossing folder and I used chalks to highlight the words (so I could match the pinks). I added a little bling in the top left corner, and that was that ... lol.

PIANO CARDS FOR B&W SWAP

When I read the description of this swap, I knew I wanted to do a piano card. Laurel K. made a beautiful one not too long ago and it really inspired me to try to make one. I definitely knew I wanted a Baby Grand shape. I used stickers for the keys and, yes, there are 88 of them. (My kids all play the piano, so I knew they'd be checking ... lol.)

I figured since the keys were so small, I would make sure it had all 88. In fact, I got the 88 keys together first, then drew the piano to scale around them. That's when I realized how small the piano was going to be, so I opted to put it on the card instead of having it be the card itself. The piano lid opens for a small message, the rest is within the card. I really hope my swap partner likes it. :D

But wait, there's more! I got the biggest surprise this week after mailing my card out. Laurel sent me the one she made! I had to post this for you to see.

She folded ribbons to make the keys, and the music stand comes up.

The top flap opens for one message. then the piano "lid" opens with the rest of the message.

Isn't it gorgeous?!! I am so blessed to have such sweet friends! Thanks, Lozzie!

FLOWER CARD FOR JUNE "FREE" SWAP

This card was made for a Free Swap (which means you can make whatever kind of card you want). Patti emailed me to tell me that when she opened it up, her grandson announced that it would be the perfect card for his mother's birthday and asked to have it. How cool is that?! Thank you, little man. :D
