HOUSE MOUSE GET WELL CARD

I finally conquered my fear of sketch cards and made one. I was always daunted by them. I don't know why ... but there it is. I used this sketch from Splitcoast:

I even went so far as to put the final piece off-center and added some bling. I don't know where all this boldness came from, but the fear factor of sketches is finally gone. Woohoo!

This is the final result:

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you haven't already tried doing a sketch card ... give it a go. You may just surprise yourself. I know I did .. lol.

"SPRING" CARD

This card was made for a swap. Spring is not referring to the season, but rather to the technique; spring as in BOING! They have a wonderful tutorial and gallery of photos on this technique at Splitcoast (here's the link to the tutorial). It really was fun to make.

I don't often use black cardstock, but since I had some on hand ... along with gold peel-off stickers, I couldn't resist combining them. The very first card I received as a member of this group was a spring card from Meg K. I had never seen one before, so I always associate spring cards with that welcoming one I received back then.

Thank you for visiting! It is a great encouragement to me.

V IS FOR VALENTINE ~ ALPHABET SWAP CARD

I made this Valentine for a dear friend. I used digital images on this card. I just discovered digital stamps recently and I love them. They are so versatile. I really like the fact that you can resize them. I can't wait until I get more color ink for my printer. Then I can really have fun with them.

The image on the front of the card is from Digital Doodling, and the sentiment inside is from Birds Blog. The felt accents were a gift from a friend, and I really don't remember which company made them, but I love them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ~ COMPUTER EASEL CARD

This is my first attempt at an Easel Card and it was even easier than I thought it would be. I wish I had started it earlier, though. I didn't realize how blank that screen would look with just the sentiment. I used stickers as icons, but it would've been so much better if I had recreated the computer screen with real icons. Oh well! He loves the card as it is and that's all that really matters. Maybe next time I make one of these, I'll play with it some more.

Have a wonderful day!

THREE PARCEL CARD

I saw the template for this card at Bird's Blog and I knew I had to make it. I had some chocolate colored ribbons that I've been dying to use, so I designed the card around the ribbons. It was so much fun to make, I'll probably be making some more soon. Thanks for stopping by.

HYDRANGEA CARD

This beautiful image is a freebie from Nina B Designs. The house I grew up in had hydrangeas out in the front and I've always loved their delicate colors. This is another effort at using mineral spirits with prismacolor pencils. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks for visiting.

P.S. Oops! I almost forgot. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin Up!

ANOTHER LADYBUG CARD

I just had to have a little more ladybug fun with this digital stamp from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. This time I colored the image in lighter colors and framed it with the polka dot paper. I just love the nestabilities dies. They are so much fun to play with. Hope you're having a great day!

BUGABOO VALENTINE CARD

There are so many Christmas images I still wish I had made cards from, but it's time to move forward. We've just spent the morning putting away the last of the Christmas decorations and I'm already looking forward to Valentines Day.

This little cutie is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps and he's just looking for a sweetie to hang around with.

I COULDN'T RESIST

Even though the holidays are over, I just couldn't resist posting one more seasonal card. This is self conscious Paulie, a digital stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I saw him on a card at Splitcoast and just knew I had to have him. He is my very first digital stamp ... but definitely not my last. Thanks for stopping by.

SNOOPY TUESDAY ~ SNOOPY CARD

As many of you may know, I was not able to make any cards for the latter half of last year due to a neck injury. As a result, there have not been any Snoopy cards on Snoopy's Homemade Fun in quite awhile ... and that simply won't do. So, I'm going to declare Tuesdays as Snoopy Tuesday here on the blog and I hope to post at least one new Snoopy card every week starting with today.

I saw a card on Splitcoast Stampers by Laura Hampton in December 2008 that I knew I HAD to case. I was especially intrigued by the stamping wheel used to make the buildings in the background. I just started playing with the self-inking wheel yesterday and it was so much fun to play with! I was calling my kids over to the table, saying, "You've GOT to try this!" Whoever invented this wheel thing was a genius!

Here is my version of Laura's card:

I chose to color the backdrop very softly with pencils for contrast and used Bic Mark-It pens on Snoopy's car.

If you like this card, come back next week for another Snoopy Tuesday.

I just love these House Mouse stamps. They are so much fun to color and make cards from. I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

It is currently 7 degrees f. (-14c.) outside and it's going down to 3 degrees f. (-16c.). That's not taking into account the wind chill factor. Brrrr. Too cold to think about.

Suffice it to say, that when I sat down to make a card ... this little mouse, in his steamy cup of cocoa, seemed just perfect. I feel warmer already ... lol. Thanks for stopping by!
