HOUSE MOUSE CARD IN A BOX ~ POP-UP CARD

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I have a Card In A Box to share with you. It's a 3-Dimensional card that folds flat for mailing. There are many tutorials out there for these, but I used Frenchie's Tutorial since she designed hers to fit in a standard card envelope. This is what the card looks like standing up and open. I used decorative papers from Die Cuts With A View and the images were from House Mouse decoupage sheets. All of the hummingbirds and flowers were cut out individually and added to the background papers.

The flowers are attached to strips of acetate and mounted inside the box. Then I attached a  hummingbird on a separate strip and mounted him slightly higher than the flowers so he literally hovers over them.

The flower on the back panel looked a little lonely, so I added a House Mouse and a hummingbird to complement the one in the front of the card.

Here are close up shots of the three side panels. I stamped some floral flourishes on the two side panels and added some little hummingbirds. The center panel uses the same decoupage images as the rest of the card.

The back panel of the card has more flourishes and hummingbirds, but there's still plenty of room for a handwritten note.

The best part of all of this is it folds flat and fits in a standard envelope. It doesn't weigh any more than a normal card and there are no "bumps" or irregularities that would incur extra postage.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
