Hello and welcome to a very special House Mouse Monday with an amazing Blog Hop! For today's project I am using the Dreamweaver "Damask" Background Stencil two ways; with Dreamweaver "Silver" Embossing Paste (for the larger background) and with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (for the smaller background). The stamp is "The Graduate" by Stampendous.

To make my background I taped my black card stock to my work surface, then taped the stencil on top of the card stock. I spread the embossing paste over the stencil and wiped off the excess with a small spatula. Then I carefully peeled away the tape holding the stencil down and lifted the stencil off and cleaned it.

I set aside the background to dry and used the stencil again on some blank white card stock and sponged some Tim Holtz Distress Ink over it to create a soft background for my main image. I set it aside to let the ink dry, colored my main image with Copic Markers, made the tassel from embroidery floss and tied a bow.

The final step was matting my main image, putting it all together on a white card base, and adding a sprinkle of star shaped sequins for a little extra sparkle.
